Building and Leading a Scalable Marketing Engine for a Fast-Growing Boston Dispensary

The Challenge

A Boston-based dispensary was preparing to open its first location with multiple contractors working in isolation — one focused on branding, another on copy, others on design. There was no unifying strategy, no operational structure, and no one leading the effort.

Marketing felt fragmented. Deadlines shifted, messaging varied, and leadership had no clear visibility into progress. With attention pulled toward licensing, build-out, and operations, marketing momentum was slipping before launch had even begun.

Our Approach

Cultiveight stepped in as the connective tissue — providing leadership, structure, and systems that turned scattered efforts into a functioning marketing ecosystem.

We architected a phased plan that mapped pre-launch, launch, and post-launch priorities, then built and managed the team to deliver it. From there, we built a sustainable operational and creative infrastructure to keep every contributor aligned and accountable that still operates to this day.

Leadership & Direction
Serve as ongoing marketing leadership to centralize decisions, align stakeholders, and keep execution grounded in strategy.

Systems Design
Build operational infrastructure using Asana, Slack, and automations that cut meeting time and improved accountability.

Team Assembly
Source, vet, and manage vendors across PR, SEO, paid ads, and web development to ensure every effort supports shared goals.

Creative Frameworks
Developed reusable systems — from campaign calendars and templates to SOPs — to support consistent, efficient execution.

Ongoing Strategy & Oversight
Continue to lead quarterly planning, vendor oversight, and campaign analysis to keep the brand visible and evolving.

The Transformation

What began as a loose network of freelancers evolved into a fully functional marketing operation with clear leadership, strong systems, and measurable rhythm.

The dispensary’s launch exceeded expectations, reaching break-even within six months — and Cultiveight remains the marketing backbone of the business today.

We continue to oversee all marketing operations, vendor coordination, and strategic direction — ensuring the company’s marketing remains aligned, intentional, and scalable.

“Cultiveight created structure across the board — Slack, Asana, fewer meetings, fewer people in meetings. Having my time back is invaluable. Caroline has the ability to see what people are capable of and give them clear direction. On calls, she keeps people focused.

I feel like I’m her only client.”

The Ongoing Impact

  • A complete marketing ecosystem led and sustained by Cultiveight.

  • Streamlined operations that allow faster execution and clearer communication.

  • Strong vendor alignment and campaign consistency across all channels.

  • A founder who has reclaimed time and clarity to lead strategically.

Cultiveight continues to serve as both strategy and structure — leading marketing as an integrated function of the business, not an external service.
